Start with every child’s age and the beds you need. A family tent, interconnected suites and a private villa solve different problems, and the starting amount shown on a property card may be for an ordinary adult-sharing room.
Tulia’s Superb family tent has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sitting area. Elephant Garden lists a family tent for up to five guests. These are specific alternatives to adding beds in a standard tent; ask for the exact category and permitted adult/child mix.
Angama offers interconnected suites. Tawi lists family cottages, while Kibo Villa has three en-suite bedrooms and capacity for up to six adults, with children’s extra beds by arrangement. Ask whether the children sleep within your unit, in an adjoining room or in a separate suite.
Porini’s published package is not suitable for children under eight. Do not generalise its policy to another camp or assume that a family tent changes an age restriction. Angama asks families to discuss vehicle rules for young children.
For each property, confirm eligibility for the room, shared game drives, guided walks and any special experiences. Ask for supervision arrangements around pools, paths and open wildlife areas. A room description does not establish child care, an enclosed play area or step-free access.
Kibo Villa’s starting basis covers two adults, even though more people can stay. Standard tent or cottage prices elsewhere may be per adult sharing. Family-room supplements, extra beds and children’s rates require a quote for the actual ages and rooming.
Include meals, transfer seats, vehicle use, park and conservation charges in the family quote. Specify nap times, dietary needs and any mobility or medical equipment requirements when planning the itinerary. No accessible-room claim is made without property-specific confirmation.
