These locations refer to published accommodation profiles in our lodge directory. A property’s listing name or postal address does not, by itself, establish that it is inside the national park. Use the reviewed setting labels below.

Chyulu Hills stays are regional destinations with their own activities and transfers. Loitokitok is a gateway base. Neither label means an inside-park stay. Sungura’s property identity is matched, but its park-boundary setting remains unclassified; its label is limited to the Kimana access area.

Connect the pin
with an agreed arrival.

Start with your actual departure point and booked property. KWS lists road approaches using Iremito, Kimana and Meshanani gates. The right entrance depends on the journey and the stay, rather than the nearest-looking line on a screen.

Road arrivals

Ask your driver or accommodation to confirm the gate, the final road and a suitable vehicle for current conditions. Read the route overview before selecting navigation directions.

Park entry

A property pin is not a park entrance. Identify where admission is arranged and how your planned visits fit the booking.

Fly-in transfers

Confirm the exact landing with the carrier and receiving lodge. Similar airstrip names must not be used interchangeably.

An outside lodge, a sanctuary base and an inside-park property can require different transfer and admission arrangements. Compare where to stay before deciding that a particular location is more convenient for your itinerary.

What this map covers.

This edition shows verified published stays from our accommodation directory. It is not a complete inventory of the destination. Properties awaiting identity or tariff verification are excluded; absence here is not evidence that a property is closed.

Gate, viewpoint, research-site and airstrip pins are not included in this edition. In particular, KWS’s description of a park “Kimana airstrip” and the separately described Kimana Airfield in Kimana Sanctuary are not merged into one pin. Our flight guide explains the naming issue and the confirmation needed for a booking.

Google supplies the base map and place display. We do not draw a surveyed park boundary, certify a route as public or safe, or present driving estimates as guaranteed transfer times. A place marker identifies the property listing; the entrance or meeting point for your booking may require separate instructions.

Save the details
you will actually use.

  1. Confirm the property and arrival point.Keep the exact name and the lodge's own directions with your booking.
  2. Agree the route and access.Check the road gate or airstrip, receiving transfer and any required admission.
  3. Prepare for a weak connection.Save the confirmed directions and accommodation contact where they are available offline.
  4. Keep transfers in the itinerary.Allow for the journey before counting a park drive as usable safari time.

For a multi-stop trip, compare the whole route rather than each isolated pin. The stay-length guide helps you leave enough time between arrival and departure.
